POST 9: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

More history, less audiovisual language!

Actually, this is a very important subject because in my university this year was implemented a new curriculum study. But sadly, my classmates and I will not be able to take the courses of the new curriculum, because it is just for the freshmen.

If I would have the opportunity to change my study program I would add universal history, it is never too late to learn about history, and like I said earlier in others post, I really like History, in fact, before ICEI I wanted to become a history teacher. I would also add more body expression. We already have this, but I would add more hours, because it is really helpful for everyone.

And maybe I would take off some classes like "Audio visual language", and "Mass culture and cultural industry".

Right now I'm taking Television, radio, and some cultural courses, that are shared whit the people of "Cinema and Television". My favorite subject of this semester in "Cultural Studies", because it is the first course of this topic that I learn something that I find useful.

The facilities of the "Institute of communication and image", are not so good to me, because every year the alumni increase but not the classrooms or the equipments that we use.

I'm not very happy with some teacher's methods, because they do not have a program, they just improvise the classes, and they never say to the students what they are going to evaluate. But I do not want to be unfaithful, there are others who are just great!

Bye!

POST 8: SUMMER HOLIDAYS

I need vacations!

Hello everyone, December

and the summer are here, but not my vacations. Because of the strike we have classes till January, but I know that you already know that. We all are in the same position. This week, the warmest of the year, I can’t stop thinking on the beach.

I don’t have any plans for this summer, but I can’t wait any longer for the vacations arrive! I would love to go to the beach, that is my favourite place in the whole world. My grandpa has a house on Cartagena, I will go there, like every year, to be with him and rest.

I also would like to go to another beach with my friends. One of them has a house in Laguna Verde, Valparaíso region, so maybe this summer she will invite me hahaha. She promised me months ago.
I would love to have more money, that way my parents and I could go to somewhere nice. Like to the south or the north. I've always wanted to go to Bahía Inglesa, my dad says that is beautiful, but we couldn’t go because we don’t have money, and my dad have to work all summer.

When I have a job, with my salary I’ll take my parent to a nice holiday, but in the meantime I have to stay here, in Santiago, imagining a cool place to go vacation. At least I have a little swimming pool that we put in the backyard, so I won’t die because of the heat.

See you next week!

POST 7: FILMS

Something that I love: Movies!

Hi everybody, today we have to talk about films, and I can’t deny that this is my favorite topic. I absolutely love watch movies, in the summer I can watch like three films in one day.  Actually, even in this season of the year I find a little time to watch movies, the last film that I saw was “Kubo and the two strings”, an animated film about a boy with magical powers, and “Fantastic beast and where to find them”.

I’ve saw so many films that I can’t count them, but I think the best movie I’ve seen this year was “The Revenant”.  Is a really really good film, and if you don’t see it yet, go and watch it, beside Leonardo DiCaprio is in it, what better? Haha

My all time favorite movie is “Before Sunrise” (like the link of my blog). Is from 1999 and was directed by Richard Linklater (who also directed Boyhood). "Before Sunrise" is about two strangers, an American boy and a French girl, they firt met on the train. They decided walk around Vienna, and in the meantime they fell in love, but they have to say goodbye before sunrise, because the boy have to go on the airport to go back America.

Is starred by Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. I love this movie because is so simple in structure but so deep in arguments. Two young people who discuss the world problems and know each other in one day, is just fantastic. I watched this movie like five times, because is romantic, but not silly!

I totally recommend it for everyone who enjoys a good movie; this film is not just for girls. Also I recommend the sequels “Before sunset”, and “Before midnight”.

A movie that I would love to see again is “Rust and bone”, a French film starred by Matthias Schoenaerts and Marion Cotillard, so deep and beautiful, and whit a big message for the audience. I totally recommend it, go and watch it!

POST 6: POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Big dreams: Cambridge University!

Like I said in my last post I would love to travel around the world in the furture, but I know that is not that easy, so I will probably take a postgraduate course, the big question is, where?

When I was little I hear in a movie the “Cambridge University” and I fell in love just with the name. Later I investigated about the history of the place and I decided that someday I going there. Now that I’m studying to become a journalist I wil love to go there and take a course about investigation journalism or learn how to do fantastic chronicles of my trips. Oxford is other university that I would like to study, because of the prestige and the history

Of course I will love to live in England for a long time after take the courses, but that's why I have to improve my English

If I could not study in England I would like to study here, in chile. Probably in other university, like “Universidad de Concepción” or “Universidad católica”. I would like to work when I take the courses of post degree, that way I can use what  I learn in my work.

My aunt, who lives in Mexico always tell that I have to go there to study in “Universidad Autónoma de México”, maybe someday I’ll take her offer and go to take the post degree courses there.

See you next week!

Post 5: MY FUTURE JOB

Travel the world, my dream job!

I’m studying journalism, so I hope to become a great journalist. I would love to work in a travel magazine or maybe a travel tv show, or something related to travels and visit a lot of cities, around the world.

I imagine myself traveling like Jean Philippe Cretton does it, He visited the greatest capitals of pizza, and he tried them, I mean, if that It’s not a dream job I don’t know what it is hahaha

Actually, if you ask me, I don’t want to work for a big company, or a big network, I will love if it’s a little alternative tv network or magazine. That would be great!
I’m studying journalism because I liked it since I was in school. Since second grade in high school I wanted to become a journalist.

I think I’m good at writing and this semester I discovered that I like Radio (the subject), so maybe a can work there when I graduate; I hope I can travel the world working there, maybe like a international  correspondent, and talk about the greatest events around the world.
I really hope the salary be good, that way if they won’t send me to others countries for work, I can pay for holidays in Europe haha

See you next week!

POST 4: Animal and pets

100% DOG LOVER!

I consider myself a 100 percent animal lover, and especially a dog lover. I really love been surrounded by a lot of animals. Since I was little I been live with chickens, ducks, cuy, and a lot of dogs, I really mean it when I said a lot. My grandpa had fourteen dogs at a time!

I use to have one dog when I was little, her name was Brenda and she was a cocker spaniel, and she was a little grumpy. She died like ten years ago. Now I have three dogs, Kako, Mota and Amaya. All of them are black and curly.

Kako

All my life I’ve had pets, especially dogs, they are the best pets, so loyal and loving. I’ve had a chicken once, her name was Copetina, but sadly my dog, Rony (he diedtwo years ago) killed her, and her entire family.

My former neighbor had a snake and a goat! That made my dog Rony crazy. One time he jumped the fence and tried to attack the goat, was a pretty weird situation.

I’m completely against medical research in animals and having them in zoos; those things are jails for wild animals.

The nature is wise, let them live free!

Post 3: Reading

From hackers to wizards

When I was in school I had to read for obligation, there I fell in love with literature, especially with novels of love and fantastic worlds. When I entered to University I had so many books to read for exams and other stuff that I didn’t have time to read novels just for fun.

This year I decided that I would read novels again, and since then I’m a book worm. Since April I´ve read a lot of books, in particular sagas. I love the fictional literature and also crime novels. One of my favorite writers is Stieg Larrson, a Sweden Journalist, who wrote my favorite saga at the moment, “Millennium”.

From that trilogy my favorite book is “The girl who kicked the hornets' nest” (But I like more the name in Swedish, something like “The queen in the palace of the draughts”).From there, my favorite characters are Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander. The last one is a hacker, who fell in love with Mikael, who is a Journalist. Together they live many tragedies across the books.

At this moment I´m reading Harry Potter saga. Actually I’m reading the fourth book “Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire”. I enjoy it very much, because it’s about magic and friendship, and I like that topics very much. I recommend it to everyone who enjoys of fantastic stories of young people hahaha. No, really, if you haven’t read it yet, go and do it!
